Youth Fellowship Events Calendar
If you read your February Youth Newsletters carefully, you
will notice that we have changed the schedule a little bit – that’s to allow us
to take up a special invitation from Hopewell Reformed Church. They’ve invited
us to an evening Christian concert and worship at their church on February 20th.
So we’ve shuffled things around…

Thursday Prayer Group
“Read your Bible
and pray every day.” I guess I’ve heard that advice a lot in the church, and
I’ve probably even given that advice sometimes. But what does that mean? How do
we pray? How do we read the Bible? Recently I realized that we often advise
people on what to do to grow
spiritually, but we don’t tell them how to do it.
Thinking back, I
only started to learn about prayer after I graduated from college. And then I
realized that there were lots of different kinds of prayer, different ways of
experiencing God through his Word, different ways of listening to the Spirit.
And like most things, the only way to learn more about prayer is to practice
it. I would be delighted if the students in our congregation had a chance to
learn more about having a prayer life of their own even before they leave home
for work or college.
And so I’m going to propose an experiment: We’ll call it Thursday Prayer. On Thursday evenings after the Pasta Supper or the Roast Beef Supper, I’d like to meet with any students who are interested in learning more about prayer and Bible reading. If you can’t come every time, come when you can. Each week, we’ll experience a different kind of prayer, practice reading the Bible together, and pray for each other. I look forward to seeing who will show up Feb. 24th, 6—7:30! -- Pastor Rebecca

Mission Team News
This is the month when we get to start meeting as
mission teams! These team meetings are both important to prepare us for our
mission trips, and a fun chance to start bonding with the other mission team
members.
Team Meetings Coming Up:
·
M-Fuge will meet on Wednesday, March 9, 7:30 – 9 pm
·
Mexico Outreach will meet on Sunday, March 13, 4 – 6 pm
Fund-Raisers:
·

·
Plans are in the works for the ACTS of the Disciples (All Church
Talent Show). We will need people to donate lovely scrumptious desserts and to
make centerpieces for the tables. We will also need mission team members to
help sell tickets in advance (both in church and to outside friends), to
decorate on Saturday, April 9th, and to help serve at the talent
show.
THANK YOU! To the many parents and youth who worked
hard on the Banquet (January 30th) with Hopewell Reformed Church
youth.
And to all the youth who served so well at the
Valentine’s dinner dance!
