May Youth Events
April
was a busy month! We all worked really hard to bring together the Youth Service
at the end of April, to host the district Youth Rally, and to go on Youth
Quake. Now it’s time to settle down for a few normal weeks of youth fellowship
before the end of the year. We’ve decided to meet on the evening of Mother’s
Day this year. We certainly don’t expect to see everyone on May 8th,
but some of you may have celebrations for your moms earlier in the day—and
maybe your mom is happy to send you to youth fellowship for a few hours ;-). We
will also have one final Banquet for the year on May 22nd.
We’re
also looking ahead to the end of the year. We want to be sure that you have
June 5th on your calendars. On that evening, we’ll hold our closing
picnic for the year. We’ll break out the volleyball net and enjoy eating
together. It will be a time to recognize our graduating seniors and send them
off to college with our blessings. We’ll also have a chance to look back over
the year and celebrate what we’ve done as a youth fellowship.
We’ll
make opportunities to keep meeting over the summer: look for Monday night
volleyball and a possible special youth event in August.

District Youth Rally
With
comedians “Mad Dogs and Englishmen”
Saturday,
April 30, 1:30 – 3:30 pm at our very own PUMC!
Our
church has the honor of hosting this district-wide youth event.
These
comedians will make you laugh ‘til it hurts!
Do you love God? Do you love students? We are looking to augment our adult youth ministry
team for next year. Involvement could range from weekly to bi-monthly. We can
use lots of different gifts: cooking, music, leading discussions, running
games, emergency chaperones, etc. If you are interested, please pray about it
and speak with Pastor Rebecca to visit a youth meeting and see what might be
the best fit for you.
