PUMC Youth Fellowship

PUMC Youth Fellowship Is Full of Fall Fun!

We thought our youth fellowship program was busy in the summer, but it doesn’t compare to the fall!  We kicked off our new year with a wonderful opening picnic. The weather was great, and each one of the eighty in attendance (wow!) seemed to have a fantastic time!  A couple weeks later, our M-Fuge and Mexico mission teams expressed their appreciation to all who supported them with an entertaining evening of testimony, sharing, and ice cream sundaes.  With Autumn Blaze, the CROP Walk, a banquet, “Grill the Pastor”, and plans to paint the junior high youth room all coming up in October, youth will have plenty of opportunity for even more fun!  But by far the most exciting thing about October is that Pastor Rebecca is back from her 3-month maternity leave.  Welcome back, Pastor Rebecca!!

Remember to support the PUMC Pumpkin Patch!

This is a great way for youth of all ages to give back to our church and to reach out to our community.  Opportunities include face painting, providing baked goods, selling pumpkins, and so much more.  See the sign-up sheets outside Fellowship Hall for the complete list of ways you can lend a hand.

A Sneak-Peak Ahead….

Remember the awesome HUGE harvest Party that we had last fall?  Well, there’s a rumor going around that something HUGE and FUN and WET is being planned for this fall.  Stay tuned for more information!

In the Bible, Jesus tells us that by serving others, we are serving God.

You are never too young to serve!

Here are several service opportunities for PUMC Youth….

Be an acolyte

The acolyte is an important part of worship at PUMC.  If you are a youth in grade 6, 7, or 8 and are interested in being an acolyte, please see Pastor Rebecca or a junior high youth leader.  The acolyte sign-up sheet is located on the youth bulletin board outside of Fellowship Hall.

Be a liturgist

Any senior high age youth is able to be a liturgist.  The liturgist is the person who reads the scripture and leads the congregation in the opening prayer.  If you are interested in sharing your “reading and leading” talents with the church, please see Pastor Rebecca or a senior high youth leader.

Join a Youth Banquet Ministry Team: Music, Drama, maybe even Dance

Music and drama bring our monthly “Banquets” to life!  If you play an instrument, sing, or act and would like to share this gift with your fellow youth, join our banquet music team or drama team.  These teams usually meet twice a month, Sunday at 4:30.  We are looking at the possibility of starting a dance ministry, too!  If you are interested in any of these teams, please speak to Pastor Rebecca or any youth leader.

Help in our PUMC Pumpkin Patch (see previous page)

Participate in Highway Cleanup

If you are 14 years old or older, you can help make our community a cleaner place by participating in highway cleanup along New Hackensack Road.  Watch the bulletin for details of when the next pick-up will be.

And so much more!!!!  If you would like to know more ways you can serve our church and our community, please speak to Pastor Rebecca or any youth leader!
